An injury-depleted Eastleigh Ladies were defeated 2-0 by Warsash Wasps Women on Sunday.
Eastleigh had the majority of the early play, both Sam Hide and Hollie Agombar having early chances to put the Spitfires ahead.
The Ladies went behind after Nicolle Keen’s free-kick from 20-yards caught the wind and sailed over Megan Chapman’s head in the Eastleigh goal.
After conceding, Eastleigh continued to pile pressure on the Warsash goal but they were unable to find the back of the net.
Despite having the majority of possession Eastleigh found themselves two goals behind, Keen doubled her and Warsash total following a lengthy goalmouth scramble.
Following the game, Head Coach, Gazz Davison gave his reaction: “It was probably the best performance of the season.”
“Despite the defeat, the girls can hold their heads high and go into the next game full of confidence.”
“I’d also want to praise Megan on performance in goal – she has stepped in this week after Laure got injured and has done a brilliant job.”
The ladies are back in action next week, away to New Milton Town in the Hampshire County Cup.
